Waste and Recycling

Waste and Recycling Collection

Chavey Down’s Bin Day is Thursday (unless there is a bank holiday when it is then a day later).

There are four bins available: food waste (black caddy), recycled waste (blue bin), garden waste (brown bin) and general waste (green bin). Glass waste needs to be disposed of at a bottle bank or at the Longshot Lane Waste Disposal site.

Visit Bracknell Forest Council’s Bins and Recycling web page for more information including finding your collection day and which bins to put out, how to reduce and recycle your waste and how to book a slot at the tip.

Please ensure the correct container is out at the kerbside for collection by 6.30am. This can be done the night before. Once emptied, it must be returned to your property. Please note that leaving excess rubbish in the street is an offence that could lead to prosecution. The bin should be presented with the lid closed and excess refuse left by the bin will not be taken. However, excess recycling is acceptable. Do not leave the bin on the public footpath or highway after bin day as it is likely to be removed.

If you have difficulty taking your bin(s) to the collection point you can apply for assisted bin collection. Find out more here or call Bracknell Forest Customer Services on 01344 352000.
